It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Linton Gilbert in Lark Harbour, Newfoundland, who passed away on March 7, 2021, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Linton Gilbert to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by : his wife Pearl; his parents, Raymond Gilbert and Elizabeth Gilbert; and his brother Raymond Gilbert (Sylvia). He is survived by : his children, Sharon Childs (Tom), Brian Gilbert (Rowena), Larry Gilbert (Trudy), Mike Gilbert (Marilyn) and Suzanne Baird (Andy); his grandchildren, Terrie Walters, Trevor Childs (Joanna), Michelle Taite (Jason), Josh Gilbert (Jen), Patrick Gilbert, Isaac Gilbert, Lindsay Gilbert (Courtney), Emily Gilbert, Shelly Antwi (Taz) and Shayna Young; his great grandchildren, Nicholas, Aleigha, Ryder, Carrie, Addisyn, Emersyn, Annabelle, Allison, Tristan, Spencer and Zayah; his sister Norma Pickett (William); his siblings-in-law, David Sheppard (Bernice) and Shirley Sheppard; his parents-in-law, Arthur and Nellie Sheppard; his stepfather-in-law Thomas Sheppard; and his siblings-in-law, Myra (George Robinson), Harold Sheppard and Joseph (Irene Sheppard). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Due to Covid-19 Government Restrictions a private family visitation will be held and a private funeral service will take place at Fillatre's Funeral Chapel, 4 St. Mark's Avenue with Rev. Effie Organ officiating.
As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. James Anglican Church, Lark Harbour.
