He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Strang and Lillian Strang; his grandson Rayyan; his brothers, Alex, Thomas (Sandra), Kenneth (Lorraine), George, Alfred (Marie) and Walter (Norma); and his sister-in-law Jean.

He is survived by: his sons, Todd (Trent), Chad (Tara) and Charlie (Umara); his grandchildren, Kieran, Vivienne, Adilya and Zakariya; his siblings, Helen Grant (John), Madeline Beck (Alvin), Jack Strang (Dot) and Michael Strang; and his sisters-in-law, Sandra, Lorraine, Marie and Norma.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of one's choice.
