We announce the death of Florence Marie (Ellsworth) Boyde (Lewisporte, Newfoundland), who passed away on September 6, 2026, at the age of 92. Florence will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her husband Sandy Boyde; her daughter Christine; her mother Phoebe; her grandparents, William and Etta Ellsworth; and her siblings, Harold, Reginald, Robert, Albert, Donald, Aubrey, Rose, Grace, Rita, Ruby, Ethel and Mae.
She is survived by: her son Bill (Pauline); her grandchildren, Vanessa Howard (Paul), Jeffrey Boyde (Tristen), Laurie Taylor (Curtis), Tom Dale (Sabrina) and Mike Dale; her sister Greta Young; her sister-in-law Gladys Kelloway; and her friends, Delilah Ball, Neta Boyde and Joyce Ellsworth.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Families Funeral Home (9 Forward Dr, Lewisporte, NL A0G 3A0). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Salvation Army Citadel (21 Centennial Dr, Lewisporte, NL A0G3A0). A burial was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at the Community Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Lionel Kelland Hospice.
