We are sad to announce that on February 4, 2021, at the age of 99, Florence Layte (Lewisporte, Newfoundland) passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Florence Layte to pay them a last tribute. You may also light a candle in honor of Florence Layte.

She was predeceased by : her parents, James Freake and Lillian Freake; her husband Aaron Layte; her son Milton (Kathleen); and her siblings, Jessie (Max), Jane (Norman), Ruth, John Henry (Mary), William (Eunice) and Ronald (Joyce).

She is survived by : her children, Doreen (Brooklyn), Ronald (Dallas), Betty (Brian), Woodrow (Christine), Shirley (Winston), Mavis (Wallace), Derrick (Debby), Kay (Jack), Rosalyn and Wanda (John); her daughter-in-law Joy; and her siblings-in-law, Cecil and Louise. She is also survived by 30 grandchildren; 59 great- grandchildren; 11 great-great- grandchildren.

Public visitation will take place from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home on Saturday, February 6th from 10:30 AM - 12 PM and from 5 PM – 7 PM following COVID government regulations.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Salvation Army Cemetery Fund, Birchy Bay will be gratefully accepted.
