He was predeceased by: his wife Phyllis; his parents, Captain Bill and Evelyn Norman; his sister Nita Spencer; and his brother-in-law Austin Piercey.
He is survived by: his sister Patsy Piercey; his children, Judith Freake (Craig), Janice Dawe (Dave), Jean Day (Terry), Joanne Bennett (Greg) and Bill; his grandchildren, Sarah Peddle (Matthew), Elizabeth Dawe (Luke O'Connor), Rebecca West (Andy), Peter Dawe (Emily), Mark Day (Gillian Anstey), Steven Day (Jess), Laura Wheeler (Justin) and Julie Bennett (Mark Parsons); his great grandchildren, Kate, James Peddle, Annie O'Connor Dawe, Ellen, Henry West, Wesley Dawe, Kayley and Brayden Wheeler (Flo Boyd); his friend Jim Callahan; and his brother Bill.
Visitation was held on Sunday, May 10th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home (262 Main St, Lewisporte, NL A0G3A0). A funeral service was held on Monday, May 11th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the St. Paul's Anglican Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Dad's memory can be made to St Paul's Anglican Church, Lewisporte or the Calypso Foundation, Lewisporte.
