She was predeceased by: her husband Ted; her stepdaughter Donna; and her parents, Sidney Wells and Effie Wells. She is survived by: her children, Ellen (Greg), Kitty (Sean), Edward (Julie) and Sam; her sister Louise; her brother-in-law Don (Elsie); and her grandchildren, BettyAnn, Marie, Johnathan, Joshua (Holly), Patricia (Steve), Victoria (Christopher), Matthew (Jordyn), Rebekah (Brandon) and Jane. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 23rd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home (262 Main St, Lewisporte, NL A0G3A0). A funeral service was held on Sunday, May 24th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, May 24th 2026 at the Old Salvation Army Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made to the Campbellton Fire Department or, since Marie gave so much of her time and talents, one may consider simply "paying it forward.".
