It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Victor Garfield Baker (Lewisporte, Newfoundland), who passed away on October 24, 2020, at the age of 103, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his wife Mary (Woolfrey); his son Max; and his siblings, Pearl Newhook (Harry), Amy Dart (Ford), Frank Baker (Vera), Jack Baker (Netta) and Maxwell Baker (Eva).

He is survived by : his uncle Vic; and his cousin Linda Roberts.

Resting at Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home in Lewisporte, where visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 from 1-4 pm following COVID-19 government regulations.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Matthews United Church Cemetery Fund.

“Victor was my mother’s first cousin. I claimed him as mine also and he kindly referred to me as cousin, as I him. In 1986 when I made my first trip to “The Rock” to see where my parents had come from he chauffeured me around Botwood and Laurenceton visiting moms home and other cousins as well. When I saw him in Dec. 2017 he was in a bit of back pain from his gardening chores but agile and in good spirits. After my return to Ontario we continued to correspond as Victor was a great letter”
