He was predeceased by : his parents, Vincent McHugh and Mary McHugh. He is survived by : his wife Margaret McHugh; his sister Agnes Bartlett; his children, Gerard, Chris (Brenda), Jacquie (Bert), Karl, Vince (Melanie), Art, Mark (Ruby) and Anastasia (Kent); his grandchildren, Amanda (Derek), Jesse, Rachel (Sheldon), Sarah (Justin), Mark (Wissal), Jillian (Jeffery), Christie (Jessica), Kirsten (Drake), Hannah, Evan (Jillian), Griffin (Brooke), Jack, Walker and Noah; and his great grandchildren, Will, Niamh, Austin, Harper and Jasper. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
