He was predeceased by: his parents, James and Beatrix; and his siblings, Ida Moores and Peter. He is survived by: his children, Cherie Whelan (Ellis Whalen), Dee Payne (Rick), Danny (Shelley) and Nikki Collier (Parrish); his grandchildren, Morgan, Katie, Laura, Nancy Whalen, Ricky, Annika Payne, Daniel, Meagan (Zack), Jayme Whelan, Parker and Sam Collier; his brothers, Mike and Joe (Nancy); and his siblings-in-law, Hazel, Ray (Marion), Stella (Ed), Valerie (Gord) and Gerald Burton.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in Dan's memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
