It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gertrude Jeanette Stapleton of Mount Pearl, Newfoundland, who passed away on January 5, 2026, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Pardy and Dorthy Melita Pardy; and her sister Dorothy Murphy. She is survived by: her husband Robert; her children, Darlene (Shawn), Tracey, Renata (David), Janice (John) and Christine (Jonathan); her grandchildren, Chantelle, Olivia, Joshua, Jasmine, Thomas and Katherine; her great grandchildren, Oliver, Riley, Elora and Sophia; and her siblings, Juanita (Bob), Clarence (Lucy) and Edward.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 8th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Barrett's Funeral Home - Mount Pearl (73 Commonwealth Ave, Mount Pearl, NL A1N1W7). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Barrett's Funeral Home Mount Pearl Chapel - Mt. Pearl (73 Commonwealth Ave, Mount Pearl, NL A1N1W7).
