He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Sharon; his sons, John (Raquel) and Stephen (Marsha); his grandchildren, Lauren and Kate; his siblings, Elizabeth Heatley, Brian (Betty), Clarence (Bev) and Brenda (Ray); and his brother-in-law Wince Kean.
John and Sharon were devoted to helping those who are less fortunate, therefore in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a food bank of one's choice in John's honour.
