He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Fennelly and Mary Jane Fennelly; and his siblings, Mary Chidley (Stephen), Judith Nolander (James), Ann Power (Arthur), Bernadette Kenny (William), James and Thomas.

He is survived by: his wife Anita Cecilia Fennelly; his children, Dolores Wall (David Carew), Paul (Beverley) and Michael (Cecilia Bong); his grandchildren, Jeffrey Wall (Angela), Stephanie Tuck (Robert), Ryan and Ellery Fennelly; his great grandchild Leo Wall; and his brother-in-law Gerald Kinsella. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Leo's memory to the Caribou Memorial Veteran's Pavilion.
