We are sad to announce that, on November 24, 2025, at the age of 77, Madeline Lucy Duggan of Mount Pearl, Newfoundland, born in Bell Island, Newfoundland passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Edward Francis; her parents, William Fitzgerald and Elizabeth Fitzgerald; her parents-in-law, Edward and Ellen Duggan; her brothers, Jim, Leon and Lorne; and her in-laws, Peter Cole, Shirley Murphy (Bill), Helen Ruhland, Pat Duggan, Shirley Fitzgerald and Joan Fitzgerald.
She is survived by: her children, Edward Patrick (Cheryl Boland) and Carla Melanie (Ricky Szabo); her grandson Anthony; her siblings, Anna Cole and Mike Fitzgerald; and her in-laws, Tom (Ros), Kevin (Bernadette), Jerry (Mary), Jeannette Duggan and Helen Fitzgerald.
Family and friends wishing to honor her are encouraged to share memories and stories, and are invited to make a donation in her name to the Healthcare Foundation of NL or the St. John's SPCA.
