He was predeceased by: his son Richard; his parents, Michael Hanlon and Catherine Hanlon; his parents-in-law, William and Eileen Thoms; his siblings, Shirley, Betty, Ann, Patsy, Marion and Bill; and his siblings-in-law, Richard Ross, Vern Carey, Allan Thoms, Eleanor Hanlon, Linda Cole, Lona Hanlon and Lorraine Thoms.

He is survived by: his wife Carolyn; his children, Wendy (Al) and Peter (Rhonda); his grandchildren, Jake, Josh Barbour and Katherine Ray Hanlon; his siblings, Tom, Michael (Vera), Frances Carey and Barbara Morey; and his siblings-in-law, Herbert Thoms, Murdock Cole, Alfred Nebucett, Lindsay Hill, Wendy Nebucett and Ellen English.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Diabetes or Kidney Foundations, in memory of Race, would be very much appreciated.
