He was predeceased by: his parents, Reece Balch and Lavada Balch; his sons, Justin and Matthew; his brother Michael; and his son-in-law Jeff Tucker.

He is survived by: his wife Betty; his daughters, Shannon Kuhl (Joe) and Gina Tucker; his grandchildren, Trevor, Travis Tucker, Colton, Lauren and Carly Royals; his great grandchild Evan Tucker; his siblings, Steve, Larry Balch, Barbara Jackson and Judy Guthrie; his sisters-in-law, Lila Samson (Clarence) and Veta Patch (Brad); and his close friends, Darrell Williams and Warrick Marshal.
