It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bernice V. Rideout (Musgrave Harbour, Newfoundland), who passed away on September 20, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Hedley Brenton and Winnifred Brenton (Wiseman); her husband Eli Rideout; her siblings, Shirley Smith, Jacqueline Coates and Watson Brenton; her siblings-in-law, Maxwell Coates, Hubert Head, Nita Brenton and Masie Brenton; and her son-in-law Carson Preston.
She is survived by: her children, William Rideout (Trina) of Gander, NL, Carrie Rogers of Gander, NL, Eileen Preston of Glovertown, NL and Bernice Rideout of Iqaluit, NU; her siblings, Clarence Brenton of Wings Point, NL, Leo Brenton (Terri) of Port Hope, ON, Christine Head of Wings Point, NL and Myrtle Holloway (Gerry) of Labrador, NL; her grandchildren, Leonard Rogers (Nancy), Justin Preston (Patricia), Adrian Rideout and Joshua Rideout; and her great grandchildren, Jaden Kelly, Hayley Rogers, Evan Rogers, Ryder Kelly, Chloe Rogers, Fenyx Preston, Dani Preston, Jabez Preston and Noor Kelly.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the St. Alban's Anglican Church.
As an expression of sympathy and in her memory, flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Rideout family, who will decide on monetary disbursements at a later date.
