He was predeceased by: his wife Johanna; his parents, Walter and Edith; his parents-in-law, Samuel and Maude Hillyard; and his brothers, Clarence, Don (Agnes), Melvin and Ivan (Edith).
He is survived by: his close friend Bessie Upwards; his grandchildren, Michael (Barbie), Roy (Luz), Walter (Kayla), Pauline (Ronald), Darlene (Ron) and Sam (Brenda); and his siblings, Ira (Marjorie), Vera (Wilson), Alice, Irene (Laud), Iris (Milton), Dora (Koylie), Cora (Billy) and Jessie (Bob). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and a large circle of extended family and friends.
