She was predeceased by: her parents, John Ingvauld Avery and Jemima Avery; her brother Wilson Avery; and her nephew Robert Avery. She is survived by: her husband Lewis Barrett; her children, John (Catherine), Karen (David) and Kristopher (Raina); her stepgrandchildren, Sibylla, Jameson, Emily, Caroline, Gavin, Naomi, Nyah, Lily and Madison; her brother Herman Avery (Mary); and her close friend Kim Harris. She is also survived by mother and grandmother.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Hopkins' Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Sea United Church.
As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Gladys' memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of one's choice.
