He was predeceased by : his parents, Herbert George and Mary Sparkes; his sisters, Francis and Annie; his brothers-in-law, Walt Rodgers and Nelson Tucker; and his parents-in-law, Willis and Clara Matthews.
He is survived by : his wife Bertha; his daughters, Janice (Roger), Wendy (Keith) and Bev (Kevin); his grandchildren, Justin (Tiffany), Jordan (Erica), Merissa (Andreas), Gavin and Ashley; his great grandchildren, Wyatt, Addison, Skye, Jaden, Hannah, Callie and Ava; his nephews, Matthew (Amy) and Marcus (Korri); his siblings, Leonard (Benetta) and Marjorie; and his siblings-in-law, Doris (Melvin) and Renson (Lorraine). He is also survived by other nephews, nieces, extended family and a large circle of friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Hopkins' Funeral Home. A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Hopkins' Funeral Home Chapel, Old Perlican.
As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, and in respect for Hedley's love of animals, a donation may be made in his memory to the SPCA Happy Valley Goose Bay Chapter from which two of his critters were adopted.
