He was predeceased by: his wife Helen Laurie (McGrath); his children, Jimmy and Elizabeth; his great grandchild Hollie Parsons; and his parents, James Laurie and Bridget Laurie (Field).
He is survived by: his siblings, John, Michael, Richard, Wayne, Mary Squires and Regina Laurie; his pet Cove; his daughters, Paula Parsons (Roger), Pamela Rixon (Darrell) and Donnalee Laurie (Tanner); his grandchildren, Ryan Parsons (Ashley), Ashley Howell (Jeremy), Alyssa Lawlor (Billy), James Rixon, Bridget, Connor Braaten, Laurie and Grace Furlong; his great grandchildren, Joshua and Liam Howell; his siblings, Edward, Kevin (Brenda), Philip and Eleanor Stapleton; his sisters-in-law, Alexa Laurie, Theresa Kavanagh (Robert) and Mary King; his aunts, Mary Tapper and Teresa Tapper; and his caregivers, Bernice McGrath, Valerie Wheeler and Patti Bartlett.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Caul's Funeral Home (84 Lemarchant Rd, St. John's, NL A1C2G8). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Edward's Parish (2696 Topsail Rd, Conception Bay South, NL A1W4L5).
