He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Tobin and Rita Tobin; his siblings, Gerald (Dallas), Fred and Marina; his parents-in-law, Emmett and Mary Morris; and his siblings-in-law, Cammie Nash, Helen Tobin, Paula Tobin and Bob.
He is survived by: his wife Mary; his siblings, Mary, Rose (Billy), Bernice (Joe), John and Arch; and his in-laws, Anna Tobin, Pad (Theresa), Agnes (Richard), Emmett (Donna), Eileen (Vince), Carmel (Gary) and Max (Cathy). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, on Sunday, June 1st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Maher's Funeral Home (11 Veteran's Way, Placentia, NL A0B2Y0). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Anne's Church (1194 NL-100, Dunville, NL A0B1S0). A burial will be held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 at the Dermot McGettigan Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Birdie's memory to the Alzheimer's Society of Newfoundland.
