He was predeceased by: his wife Ethel Mae Bennett; his parents, Hilda Bennett and Donald Bennett; his brothers, Daniel Bennett, Ralph Payne and Graham Bennett; his in-laws, Ethel Mae and Frederick Ellsworth; and his siblings-in-law, Foster Payne, Mac Ellsworth, Edgar Ellsworth, Claude Ellsworth, Rufus Ellsworth (Stella), Sidney Ellsworth (Cora), Colleen Bryan, Edith Payne (Stanley), Sabina Payne (Joseph) and Bessie House.
He is survived by: his children, Janice Crocker (Gordon), Freddie Bennett (Pauline), Dorothy Bennett (Scott), Daniel Bennett, Jamie Bennett, Edgar Bennett, Angela Bennett and Stephen Bennett (Lacey); his grandchildren, Andrew (Terri-Lynn), Mark (Jennifer), Christopher, David (Mandy), Kyle, Zack, Deneka, Hayden, Logan, Seth, Natalie, Easton, Sawyer and Paisley; his great grandchildren, Nevaeh, Denise, Mason and Kai; his siblings, Bernard Bennett (Daisy) and Irene Payne; and his sisters-in-law, Lorraine Gilley and Betty Ellsworth.
Visitation was held on Monday, May 11th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, on Tuesday, May 12th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Anglican Church (1 Rectory Ln, Rocky Harbour, NL A0K4N0). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 13th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
