He was predeceased by: his wife Alice Bennett; his grandson Donovan Bennett; his parents, Mary Bennett and James Bennett; his parents-in-law, Hannah and Patrick Synard; his siblings, Carry, Bertha (Cornelius), Violet (Jim), Helene (Cyril), Annie (Charles), Patrick (Josephine), Richard, Jim, Cornelius and Baby Bennett; and his brothers-in-law, Albert (Rose), Brendan and Gerald.
He is survived by: his children, Joe Bennett of Creston South, Carl Bennett (Bonnie) of Rushoon, Pad Bennett (Trudy) of Red Harbour, Randy Bennett (Jeanne) of Rushoon, Doreen Hickman (Chris) of Rushoon, Wanda Lee Brushett (Guy) of Jacques Fontaine and Corey Bennett (Megan) of Burin; his grandchildren, Shane, Chad (Kate), Victoria (Paul), Debbie (Adam), Michael, Jenna, Curtis (Brittany), Cameron (Kailey), Brittany (Curtis), Lucas, Dylan (Rhonda Lee), Devon, Parker and Nate; his great grandchildren, Jay, Benjamin, Ethan, Sophia, Noah, Ash, Jordan, Weston, Logan, Rowan, Elsie, Rory, Liam and Paige; his brother Bill Bennett (Irene) of Rushoon; and his siblings-in-law, Aggie Bennett of Creston South, Patsy Bennett of Grand Bank, Elizabeth Synard of Parker's Cove, Doreen Hayse (Larry) of Parker's Cove, Noreen Synard of Parker's Cove and Charles Synard (Betty) of St. John's.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Rushoon Community Centre. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Christ the King Roman Catholic Cemetery.
