He was predeceased by : his father Richard; and his siblings-in-law, Judy Pye and Neil Caravan The. He is survived by : his wife Gail Thompson; his children, Michael Nightingale (Elinor Voskamp-Nightingale), Chris Thompson and Laura Careen (Gavin); his grandchildren, Brooke Nightingale, Trevor Careen and Izaac Careen; his mother Juanita Thompson; his siblings, Brenda Thompson (Kent Folks) and Donnie Thompson (Catherine); and his siblings-in-law, Marion Gosse (Dave), Mae Caravan and Gerald Pye. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.

In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in his loving memory to Daffodil Place.
