The memory of Richard Stephen Young (Spaniards Bay, Newfoundland), who passed away on September 30, 2025 at the age of 77, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Young and Mary Young; his wife Carol; his brother Kevin Whelan; and his brother-in-law David Trainor.
He is survived by: his son Craig (Amanda); his granddaughters, Paige and Avery; his siblings, Tom (Paula), Terry (Jeanette), Frances (Bill) and Agnes; his sister-in-law Mary Whelan; and his close friend Johnny Pauls. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Slade's Funeral Home (488 CBN HWY, Spaniards Bay). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph's R. C. Church (52 NL-94, Riverhead, NL A0A3P0).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his loving memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
