He was predeceased by: his wife Stella; his son Ralph; his granddaughter Trina Lynn; his parents, Miriam Benson and Enos Benson; and his siblings, Walwyn Benson, Verena Benson, Irene Benson, Pearl Hutchings, Jean MacGillivray, Sarah MacGillivray and Peggy Butler.
He is survived by: his daughters, Barbara Newhook and Suzanne Furlong; his grandchildren, Jordan, Amy and Amanda (Radovan); his great grandchildren, Evalee and Kai; his grandson Bobby Richardson; his close friends, Helen and Reg Lewis; and his brother-in-law Dave Butler. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
