It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Amelia (Brazil) Anne Hayes (St John's, Newfoundland), who passed away on February 24, 2026, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Michael Brazil and Sarah Brazil; her siblings, Margaret Brazil (Madge) and James Brazil (Lawrence); and her daughter Diane Bartlett.
She is survived by: her sons, Gerard (Jean) and Alvin (Anne); her son-in-law Peter Bartlett; her great grandchildren, Nick (Cynthia), Ian (Jill), Evan (Shannon), Philip, Stephen (Jackie), Doug (Leah), Glen (Jenelle) and Brian (Alex); and her sister-in-law Josephine Mooney. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 1st 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, on Tuesday, March 3rd 2026 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Wednesday, March 4th 2026 at 10:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 3rd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Kevin's Parish (454 Main Rd, Goulds, NL A1S1E8).
