It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Bodil Astrid Larsen (St John's, Newfoundland), who passed away on August 28, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Poul and Ellen; and her siblings, Oluf and Agnete. She is survived by: Torbjørn, Øystein, Stig, Ellen Katrine and Torill. She is also survived by family in Norway and bereft old friends.
In 2018 Bodil won the award of Merit from the North American Rock Garden Society for her outstanding contributions to rock and alpine gardening. The Alpine Trough display at the Garden and many of the potted plants in the Alpine House and the rare prehistoric Wollemi pine were all from generous donations provided to the garden by Bodil.
