He was predeceased by: his wife Marguerite Porter; his parents, Herman Porter and Edith Porter; his parents-in-law, Mildred and Walter Kennedy; his siblings, Barry Porter, Ralph Porter and Christine Bullen; and his siblings-in-law, Sylvia Neal and David Kennedy.

He is survived by: his children, Chris (Maureen), Stephen (Donna) and Lisa Pretty; his grandchildren, Ashley (Liam), Victoria (Joel), Andrea (Rick), Derek (Kristin), Matthew (Danielle), Kayla and Aaron; his great grandchildren, Brianna, Brayden, Chelsea and Cameron; his sisters-in-law, Bernice Porter and Mary Kennedy; his brother Stuart Porter (Carm); and his brother-in-law Rev. Harvey Bullen. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
