He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Short and Mabel Short; his brothers, Rupert and Everett; his parents-in-law, Marcus and Rebecca Moss; and his siblings-in-law, Ray Bennett, Robert Critch, Alvin Moss and Lillian Seaward.
He is survived by: his wife Hilda; his sisters, Joan Bennett, Geraldine Critch and Patsy White (Fred); and his sisters-in-law, Sue Short and Joyce Moss.
