He was predeceased by: his parents, Gertrude Burden and Hayward Burden; and his siblings-in-law, Bill Whitehorne, Lloyd Whitehorne and Ruth Newburg.

He is survived by: his wife Jean Burden; his children, Nancy Pelley (Scott) and Steven Burden (Cathy); his grandchildren, Rebecca James (Devon), Laura Di Lucca (Nathan), Mike Muehlherr (Tara) and Jessica Burden (Adam); his brother Jack Burden (Amy); his siblings-in-law, Daisy Amirault, Judy Blackmore, Mary Lou Whitehorne and Bob Whitehorne (Sarah); and his cousin Norma Baker (Maureen). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends.
