He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Knight and Frederick W. Knight Sr. of St. John's; his sister Karen Nash Gower; and his brother-in-law Donald Gower of Nova Scotia. He is survived by: his sister June Somerton (Gordon); his nephew David Somerton; his nieces, Sherril Inglis and Keely Knight-Nash; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Evan, Lauren Somerton, Victoria, Elizabeth and Ethan Inglis; and his close friends, Norma Boone and Kevin.

He remained in the family home and was a devoted son to his mother until such time as they were both struck by Covid and had to be hospitalized.
