He is survived by : his wife Alice; his siblings, Jane Baker (Phil), Marie Dodge and Lloyd; his brother-in-law Walter Butler (June); his niece Desiree Butler; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Delaney and Mckenna; his nephew Howard Purchase (Marjorie); his great-nephew Bradley; his daughter Stephanie; his niece Dawn Dunn (Rob); his nephew David Forsey; his nephews, Darrin Butler (Patrick Johnson) and Derek Butler (Andrea); his great-niece Sofia; and also, Ashley, Hayley, Andrew, Jenny and Heidi.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, attendance is limited at St. James United Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Howard's memory may be made to St. James United Church or St. Cyprian's-St.Mary's Anglican Church on Bell Island.
