It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Irene Eleanore (Hennessy) Andersen (St John's, Newfoundland), who passed away on July 18, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Raoul; her parents, Harold and Helen; and her sister Marjorie. She is survived by: her children, Raoul (Lorna), Cindy and Derek (Jennifer); her grandchildren, Paul, Caroline, Ian, Leah, Eirik, Alec, Ingrid, Elodie and Danica; and her siblings, Virginia and Richard.
In 2021, Covid-19 cancelled our plans to hold an in-person wake in honour of our father, Dr. Raoul R. Andersen, anthropologist and professor emeritus at Memorial University of Newfoundland.
