With profound sadness, we say goodbye to James Valentine Finn (St John's, Newfoundland), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. James left this world on November 21, 2025 at the age of 92, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Finn and Josephine Finn; his wife Mary; his siblings, Helen O'Leary, Michael, Francis and Donald; and his siblings-in-law, Catherine Finn, Elaine Shortall, Pauline Mier, Cleary Morris, Francis Shortall, John Boyle, Jack O'Leary and James Rickert.
He is survived by: his children, Andrea Marshall (Ken), Jim Finn (Heather) and Moira Audas (Rick); his grandchildren, Andrew (Sandralee Rose), Erin (Lewis Cook), Matty (Kelly Snarby), Chloe, Liam Finn, Samuel, Elizabeth and Ian Audas; his siblings, Margaret Rickert, Mary Boyle, Gerard and William; and his sisters-in-law, Hannah Finn and Rosemary Finn. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 26th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Carnell's Funeral Home (329 Freshwater Rd, St. John's, NL A1B1C3). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, November 27th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Basilica of St. John the Baptist (200 Military Rd, St. John's, NL A1C2E8).
