She was predeceased by: her parents, Leander Mercer and Effie Mercer Granter (Stanley Briggs); and her sister Renee Penney. She is survived by: her brother Thomas Mercer (Linda); her stepchildren, Blair Briggs (Caroline) and Shannon Briggs; her stepgrandchildren, Mikaela and Nathan Briggs; her sibling's children, Heather Ryan (Sean), David Penney, Jonathan Penney (Patricia) and Matthew Mercer; her close friend Maureen Dunne; and her husband Stan. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 25th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, on Wednesday, November 26th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Thursday, November 27th 2025 at 10:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 26th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Thomas' Church (8 Military Rd, St. John's, NL A1C2C4).
Flowers are happily accepted as are donations in her honor to either the Kidney Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
