With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Jessie (Hammond) Squires (St John's, Newfoundland), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 21, 2025 at the age of 95. She was predeceased by: her husbands, William Hillyard and Harold Squires; her siblings, Rose Dalzell, Lottie Cook, Doris Hammond, Albert, Reg, Eric, Dick, Max and Harold; and her daughter-in-law Lynn Hillyard.
She is survived by: her son Gary Hillyard (Judy Perchard); her grandchildren, Jeff Hillyard (Natasha Clark) and Terri Hillyard (Josh Schoonbroodt); her great grandchildren, Philip, David Hillyard and Quentin Schoonbroodt; and her sister Carrie Pynn.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre, or a charity of one's choice.
