She was predeceased by: her husband Wilfred; and her son Derrick. She is survived by: her siblings, Hettie (Cyril Taylor), Evelyn (Clarence Newell), Milly (Stan Lockyer), Dot (Roy Snyder), Olive (Max Rowe), Charle (Suse), Eddie (Olive) and Vic (Margaret); and her sisters-in-law, Verna (Baxter Howse) and Marina (David (Jupe) Adams).
Visitation was held on Monday, May 11th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Barrett's Funeral Home (328 Hamilton Ave, St. John's, NL A1E1J9). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. James United Church (330 Elizabeth Ave, St. John's, NL A1B1T9). A burial was held on Tuesday, May 12th 2026 at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
Flowers are graciously accepted or a donation in Joan's memory may be made to the SPCA or to St James United Church.
