She was predeceased by: her husband Eugene "Gene" Strong; her parents, George Stainer and Annie Stainer of Port Elizabeth, NL; and her grandson Jonathan Royce Kennedy. She is survived by: her grandchildren, Dolores Gosling (Bob), Nancy Burden (Terry), Greg Strong (Man) of Calgary, AB, Gavin of Seattle, WA, Amanda of North Bay, ON, Holly, Emily, Isabelle, Sophie and Brody of Calgary, AB; her great grandchildren, Jolie, Jaelynn and Adele; and her siblings-in-law, Art and Carole Burden.
Always smiling and quick to laugh, Joan is remembered for her kindness and charity, giving everything she had to those in need.
