He is survived by: his wife Grace (Engram); his daughters, Nancy Hitchins (Bill) and Gail Hollohan (Leo); his grandchildren, Lori Howell (Tyler Vokey), Katie Kelland (Tim), Jacob, Dawson Chaytor, Adam Hollohan of Halifax, NS, Matthew Hollohan (Morgan) of Halifax, NS, Mitchell Hollohan of Halifax, NS, Stacey O'Neill (Lee) of Halifax, NS and Justin O'Neill of Ottawa, ON.; his great grandchildren, Claire, Charlee Ellis of Halifax, NS, Jane Hollohan of Halifax, NS, Lexi, Olivia Kelland, Zachary, Maria Greene, Addison and Keely Vokey; his sister Marie; his brother-in-law Frank Evans; his brother Bill; his sister-in-law Audrey Engram of Sandyville, NL.; his family Dr. Michelle Wagoner; and his caregivers, Linda Pearce-Manning and Franka.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Carnell's Funeral Home (329 Freshwater Rd, St. John's, NL A1B1C3). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the 15th the Carnell Memorial Chapel (329 Freshwater Rd, St. John's, NL A1B1C3). The inurnment will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the 15th Anglican Cemetery - Kenmount Road.

In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society.
