He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley; his siblings, Aurora, Lorraine, James, Thomas and John; his siblings-in-law, Marina, Myrtle, Barbara, Wilson and Tasker; and his nephews, Gary, Leo and Larry.
He is survived by: his close friends, Bana, Jim Yetman, Pearl and Frank Carter; his daughters, Rosalind (Joe Carter) and Brenda Newhook (Derek Yetman); his grandchildren, Christa Newhook (Derrick Oldford), Robyn (Cecil Young), Angela Carter and Andrew Carter (Luciana Soares Borges); his great grandchildren, Gregory Oldford, Audrey, Wyatt Young and Amelia Paturel; his siblings-in-law, Gloria Squires, Josephine Bearns and Tom Davis; and his uncle Bob Newhook.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Sunday, September 13th 2026 at 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the 12th Carnell's Funeral Home (329 Freshwater Rd, St. John's, NL A1B1C3).
