Marie T. Whelan Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marie T. Whelan (St John's, Newfoundland), who passed away on May 3, 2023 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard Hayes and Rita Hayes (Bates); her parents-in-law, Captain John and Marcella Whelan (Burke); her siblings, Rev. John L. Hayes, Elizabeth Hayes (Betty) and James M. Hayes (Archbishop Emeritus); and her siblings-in-law, Rev. John Whelan, George Whelan, Dr. Ronald F. Whelan, Agnes Greene and Mary Rockwell.
She is survived by: her children, Timothy (Mary Louise), Patrick (Annette Sue), John L. (Susan Hickey), James (Kathryn), Daniel (Lingli Ma) and Mary Rideout (Arthur); her sister-in-law Betty-Lou Whelan; and her niece Marcy Greene (David Feder). She is also survived by nineteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Emmaus House food bank.
