He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Short and Josephine Short. He is survived by: his wife Ethel Mesher of Batteau, Labrador.; his children, Wade (June), Lot (Patrica), Kirby (Kim) and Annette (Michael); his grandchildren, Jennetta, Rodi, Stephan, Billy, Courtney, Laura, Jessica, Justin, Brandon and Danielle; his great grandchildren, Abby, Morgan, Nataly, Jack and Ben; his siblings, Jim Short (Vida), Josie Powell and Irene Roberts; his friend Ray Elliott; his siblings-in-law, Charlotte Bird, Marion Davis and Randolph Dyson; his siblings, Bertha Cassoni, Elizabeth Patey, Patsy Short, Lot, George Short, Walter Powell, William Patey, Melvin Roberts and Tony Cassoni; his sister-in-law Shirley Short; his nephew Donald Powell; his parents-in-law, Mary Ellen Dyson and Michael Dyson; and his sister-in-law Emily Curl.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Barrett's Funeral Homes - St. John's (328 Hamilton Ave, St. John's, NL A1E1J9). A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the St. James United Church (330 Elizabeth Ave, St. John's, NL A1B1T9).
