He is survived by: his wife Bonnie; his sons, Jonathan of Corner Brook, Matthew of St. John's and Christopher; his daughter-in-law Shari; his grandson Elias of Paradise; his sister Nellie; his brother-in-law Rex Wicks of St. John's; his niece Rochelle McIntyre (Bruce); his great-niece Hannah; his great-nephew Ian of London, Ontario; his nephew Bruce Wicks (Pam); his great-nephew Evan; his great-niece Leah of St. John's; his brother Jack Grandy; his nieces, Heather Fairchild (Michael) of Hubbards and Jennifer Lambe (Stephen); his great-niece Melrose of Paradise; his siblings-in-law, Lucien Forbes, Bob Forbes of Grand Falls, Brenda Adey (Ross), Bruce Forbes (Gennie) of Ontario, Jeffrey Forbes (Donella) of Nova Scotia and Helen Thorne (Doug) of Alberta; his aunt Effie Spear of Ontario; his cousin Barbara Paul of St. John's; Melvina of Burin. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
In his retirement, Max was a volunteer with the Board of the Family History Society of NL and also with the MUN Botanical Garden (Friends of the Garden), as well as several other groups - he especially enjoyed participating in the community choir Chordially Yours until its demise with Covid.
