Melva Sophie Belbin Obituary

We are sad to announce that, on December 14, 2024, at the age of 80, Melva Sophie Belbin (St John's, Newfoundland) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Wilfred Belbin; her grandson Shaun Downey; her parents, Benjamin Barrett and Elizabeth Barrett; her sister Sadie Masters; her siblings-in-law, Frank, Eli Belbin and Margaret Belbin; her parents-in-law, Simeon and Pearl Belbin; her friend Pearl Smith; and her siblings, Leaving, Robert Barrett, Reuban Benjamin Barrett (Sheila), Howard Barrett (Ruby) and Martha Jean Collins.

She is survived by: her niece Jennifer George; her children, Enos Belbin (Barbara), Alvis Belbin (Renata), Scott Belbin and Sonia Downey (Stephen); her grandchildren, Spencer Downey, Connor Belbin, Shamus Downey, Carter Belbin and Lucy Belbin; and her caregiver Jochebed Sowah (Naa). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great- great nephews.
