She was predeceased by: her parents, Lorraine Walsh and Arch Walsh; her stepmother Jeanette Walsh; her parents-in-law, Lloyd Gates and Lillian Gates; her siblings, Lori Gaulton and Junior Walsh; her brothers-in-law, Winston Gates, Gordon Gates, Harvey Pelley and Gerald Wall; and her close friend John Hatcher.

She is survived by: her husband Rocky Gates; her sons, Zachary Gates, Jeremy Gates (Julie Young) and Macauley Gates; her sisters, Amanda Hollett (Dereck Hollett), Denise Strang (Patrick Strang), Colleen Riggs (Darrell Riggs) and Sara Walsh (Nick Chapman); her siblings-in-law, Glenda Pelley (Chesley), Brenda Pelley (Gary Smith), Wanda March (Calvin), Judy Wheeler (Alonzo), Margaret Wall, Maxwell Gates (Mary), Wade Gates, Andy Gates (Marilyn) and Lawrence Gates (Nicolle); her niece Gail Hatcher; and her son Rocky. She is also survived by extended family and friends.

Donations in Myra's memory can be made to the family. The family will be making the donations to the Miller Center for the purchase of a palliative care cuddle bed in Myra's memory.
