He was predeceased by: his parents, Abraham Mercer and Ada Mercer; his parents-in-law, Hubert and Alice Percy; his siblings, Cecil Mercer (Florance), Ches Mercer (Joan), Hazel Mercer (Ches) and Doris Mercer (Doug); his daughter-in-law Tara Mercer (Tiller); his sisters-in-law, Daphne Morris (Bob) and Maxine Decker (Percy); his nephew Derek Mercer; his nieces, Dolly Stamp (Krauss) and Ada Gillis; and his friend Betty Forward.
He is survived by: his children, Jamie Mercer and Darlene McCarthy (Mercer); his son-in-law Joseph McCarthy; his grandchildren, Chad, Melissa, Joshua, Justin and Brandon; his siblings-in-law, Claude Percy, Dolores (Warren Puddester) and Brenda (Roger Perchard); his nieces, Sylvia Gheen and Peggy Bourgeois; and his friend Bonnie Edney. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
