It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Phyllis Joan James (St John's, Newfoundland), who passed away on April 18, 2024, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Frederick Brown and Shirley Brown; her husband David James; and her parents-in-law, John (Jack) and Elizabeth James.

She is survived by : her children, Sharon (Jonathan Mahoney), Michael (Janet) and Douglas (Cynthia); her grandchildren, Alexandria Harvey (Mackenzie), Jackson, Dylan, Kathryn Mahoney, Evan, Halle, Karly, Jack and Ella James; and her siblings, Carl Brown (Gloria), Roy Brown (Hazel), Gloria Belec (Pierre), Marlene Paré (Gilles), Darryl Brown (Paulette), Glenn Brown (Bernice), Ron Brown (Jenny), Barry Brown (Sharon) and Derek Brown (Cliff Head). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and many friends.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 21st 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Carnell's Funeral Home (329 Freshwater Rd, St. John's, NL A1B 1C3). A celebration of life was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the 22nd the Carnell Memorial Chapel (329 Freshwater Rd, St. John's, NL A1B 1C3).

Flowers graciously accepted or donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society of NL in Phyllis' honour.
