It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Ruby Matthews (St John's, Newfoundland), who passed away, on December 14, 2018. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her sister Betty Hanlon of November; and her niece Cathy Mugford. She is survived by: her sons, David (Jan), Bruce (Gwen), Keith (Colleen) and Neil (Rae-Ann); her niece Libby Warren (Colin); her grandchildren, Kyla, Stephen (Amy), Stephanie, Krystal and Gabrielle; her great grandchildren, Laura, Erica Masey, Nicholas and Jason Matthews; and her friend Kippy Halliday. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruby's memory may be made to the St. John's Boys & Girls Club.

“We are saddened to hear of "Nanny Ruby's" passing. We 1st met her when our oldest son was only 3 months old & she instantly found a place in our hearts as we did hers. We always kept in touch with phone calls, catds, pictures & enjoyed visit when she came to NS. She was an angel on earth as now she is in heaven. She would want us to celebrate her life & that we will do with love. RIP Nanny Ruby & know we take comfort knowing we have a beautiful angel watching over us xoxo”
