She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Pitcher (Harry) and Sadie (Sarah Tilley) of Clarenville. She is survived by: her husband Ralph J. Wells of St. John's; her sons, Craig Wells (Emma Cooke) of Halifax, NS and Jim Wells (Kelsey Woodruff) of Truro, NS; and her grandchildren, Samantha Laws (Morgan), Sophie and Leyton.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 4th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Barrett's Chapel (328 Hamilton Ave, St. John's, NL A1E1J9). A burial was held on Wednesday, February 4th 2026 at the Barrett's Memorial Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirley's memory may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund.
